5G

5G or 5th generation may refer to any of the following:

1. 5G, which is short for 5th generation, is a cellular communication network standard. It follows the 4G, 3G, and 2G digital cellular standards, and the original analog cellular standards collectively called 1G. 5G provides cellular data at speeds of 20 Gbps, with enhanced MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) communications to serve an increasing number of IoT (Internet of Things) devices.

The original 5G specification was created by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union). Today, it's standardized by the industry consortium 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project). 5G networks in America began service in April 2019, with broader adoption planned for 2020 and after.

Does 5G make people sick?

No. 5G does not make you sick and does not cause infertility, cancer, COVID-19, or any other disease. All scientific evidence shows that the radio frequencies from 5G do not harm humans.

There are many conspiracy stories floating around Facebook and YouTube that claim 5G is making people sick. However, all of these stories have no scientific evidence.
