Access number

An access number is a number used to access another computer, service, or program.
Examples of access numbers
- With a modem, an access number is the phone number and additional required codes to dial-up and connect to another computer.
- With an ATM, (automated teller machine) the access number is the pin used to access the account.
- When dealing with two-factor authentication or key fobs, the access number is a randomly generated number that must be entered to authenticate the user during the login.
