ActiveSync
Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope
First released in 1996, ActiveSync is an application and associated protocol developed by Microsoft used to synchronize data between mobile devices and desktop computers. The data it synchronizes is usually managed by a compatible enterprise-level groupware suite.
Beginning with Windows Vista, the ActiveSync application was replaced by the Windows Mobile Device Center, but the underlying protocol is still called ActiveSync.
