Amazon Silk

Released on November 15, 2011, Amazon Silk is a proprietary Internet browser developed for Fire OS devices. Silk uses the open-source Chromium project as its foundation, deriving many features from the Google Chrome browser.

The Silk browser comes pre-installed as the default browser on most Amazon hardware devices, including app-based Kindle devices, Fire TV, and compatible Echo devices.
