Ambient light
Ambient light may refer to any of the following:
1. With computer monitors or television screens, ambient lights are LED (Light-Emitting Diode) lights behind the screen that light the room from other directions, providing additional levels of immersion. Ambient lights often choose parts of the displayed image at any given time, and emulate the hue and brightness. For example, if an explosion occurs in the media, the ambient lights would brighten, and emit an orange color based on the color of the explosion.
2. Alternatively called natural lighting, ambient light is the light already in a room or scene before adding additional light sources. For example, if you're in a room of a house, any light from either a window or regular room lights is ambient light. If you're outside, the sunlight or moonlight is ambient light. Ambient light is important to consider before adding artificial light when recording video or taking photographs.
