Analog signal

An analog signal is signals and wavelengths transmitted over communications lines such as the sound of a voice over the phone line. With computers, a dial-up modem is an example of a device that takes digital data and converts it to an analog signal to transmit over phone lines. Below is an audio file of a modem communicating and an audible example of an audio signal.
Tip
Computer communicates using digital signals and only deal with audio signals with some forms of communication.
