Apple tax
Updated: 06/30/2020 by Computer Hope
Alternatively called the fanboy fee, Apple tax is computer slang describing the extra money a person pays when buying any Apple product. For example, this slang is used when describing how much money it can cost to purchase cables, hardware (e.g., RAM (Random-Access Memory) or peripherals), and other Apple accessories for an Apple computer.
Note
The Apple tax is not a real tax, it merely refers to the higher cost of most Apple products.
