A boot manager is a software utility for choosing what operating system to load from a list of operating systems installed on a hard drive. Not only can you choose between operating systems to load, but a boot manager can allow a user to boot to CD/DVD drives, floppy drives, or USB (Universal Serial Bus) drives without needing to access the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System).
