CAP
CAP may refer to any of the following:
1. A cap is a protective cover found on connections. For example, most computer monitor cables have a cap over the video connector to prevent it from getting dirty or becoming damaged.
2. A cap is the maximum amount of a value. For example, a server may have a cap on the number of logins to keep it from becoming overloaded with too much traffic. In a game, a level cap is the maximum level a character can achieve in a game.
3. When describing bandwidth or data, a data cap is a maximum amount of data your allocated to using. See our data plan page for further information.
4. CAP is also an acronym for Competitive Access Provider; see the local bypass definition for additional information.
5. A cap is a single capitalized letter. Pressing the Shift key or Caps lock key would allow you to make a cap.
6. When used as slang online (e.g., on TikTok), cap is another way of saying "lie." For example, someone may say "no cap" as another way to say "no lie" or "for real." The term capper also describes a liar or someone that's fake. In chat, an emoji of a baseball billed cap (🧢) may also be used in place of the word cap.
