CDE may refer to any of the following:
1. The Common Desktop Environment, or CDE, is a desktop environment for UNIX systems, and OpenVMS. It is based on the Motif widget toolkit and is a classic desktop for commercial workstations that utilize Unix. Originally, CDE was proprietary software as part of the UNIX98 Workstation Production Standard, but in August 2012 it was made available for free.
2. Short for CD Erasable, CD-E is a format introduced to the public in 1995. It allows users to write and erase data from a CD (Compact Disc) over-and-over (up to 10,000 times). Today, a CD-E is commonly known as CD-RW (Compact Disc Re-Writable).
