Short for Consumer DSL, CDSL is a trademarked version of DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) from Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, a division of Rockwell International. CDSL is asynchronous with a transfer speed of up to 1 Mbps down and 128 Kbps up with a maximum cable distance of 18,000-feet.
CDSL removed the need for ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) splitter equipment that would be installed by a telephone technician and maintains a continuous connection.
