How to enable 32-bit file access in Windows 3.x

To enable 32-bit file access, follow the steps below.
- Access the Control Panel from Program Manager.
- Double-click the 386 Enhanced icon.
- Select Virtual Memory, then click Change.
- If the swap file is temporary, choose permanent.
- In this screen, optionally enable the 32-bit disk access. If done, ensure you also enable 32-bit file access.
- Restart Windows.
