How to convert DVI to HDMI or HDMI to DVI
Updated: 11/26/2018 by Computer Hope
As video technology progresses and changes, so do the connection types. With the increasing number of connection options (VGA, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), DVI (Digital Visual Interface), DisplayPort, USB-C), the need for adapters increased. For example, if your monitor only has an HDMI input and your video card only supports DVI. In this case, you would need a DVI to HDMI adapter. These may be acquired from online retailers such as Amazon and Newegg.
Note
While HDMI can carry an audio signal, DVI cannot. So, if you're utilizing an adapter, you cannot transmit sound.
