How to determine the AGP version
It is recommended you locate the version of the AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) port by reviewing your computer motherboard documentation or the motherboard manufacturer's web page.
When locating the version of AGP your video card, make sure you locate the version, not the transfer rate.
Transfer rates of AGP can be 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, or 8x.
Versions of AGP can be 1.0, 2.0, or 4.0.
The transfer rate of an AGP port is completely different from the version of an AGP port. For example, a motherboard AGP port may have a transfer rate of 2x but have a version of 1.0. If a video card or 3D accelerator requires a version of at least 2.0, this computer would not support this video card.
Also, the product's specifications may list the appropriate voltage or AGP signaling. Often, the supported voltage is 0.8 V, 1.5 V, or 3.3 V setting. Make sure your motherboard supports the voltage of your AGP card.
