IPC$ error when connecting to Windows NT or 2000

If you are getting the IPC$ error in Windows NT or Windows 2000, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

1. Determine the username used on the Windows machine.
2. Add this username to the Windows NT or 2000 machine. To add a user to the Windows NT or 2000 machine, you must first either be logged in as the administrator or have administrator rights. If you have these rights, click Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click the Users and Passwords icon. In the Users and Passwords window, click the Add button and add the username of the Windows 9x or Windows Me machine.
