How to fix Windows error message with ntoskrnl.exe
Updated: 08/31/2020 by Computer Hope
If any disk drives were recently added or removed, or the boot.ini was recently modified, boot.ini may no longer be set up properly. The first step is to verify that the boot.ini is correctly configured.
To view, modify, or add the boot.ini file, either boot from floppy diskettes, or if you are running Microsoft Windows 2000 XP, enter through the Recovery Console. If the boot.ini file is found and contains no errors, this issue can also be resolved on computers running Windows 2000 or XP by running chkdsk /r in the Recovery Console. See the chkdsk command page for additional information.
