How to make a CD or DVD from an ISO file
Several commercial and non-commercial programs available that allows users to create a CD (Compact Disc) or DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) from an ISO image. For this page we're recommending CDBurnerXP Pro and ImgBurn, both programs are easy to use and free. Below are the steps required for creating a CD or DVD using these programs.
CDBurnerXP Pro
CDBurnerXP Pro is a great free program we recommend a lot. This program is not only capable of creating a CD or DVD from an ISO image, but can also create other CDs and DVDs. If you don't already have this program installed on your computer, it can be downloaded from the CDBurnerXP Pro homepage. Below are the steps for creating an ISO using this program.
- Open CDBurnerXP Pro.
- Insert a blank CD or DVD.
- Click the option to Create a new Data CD/RW, Data DVD/RW, Video DVD, or ISO image file.
- Click File and select Write Disc from ISO Image.
- Browse to the location of the ISO image, and click the Write Disc option.
ImgBurn
ImgBurn is a great free program designed by the same individuals who created DVD Decrypter. This utility can be downloaded from the ImgBurn homepage. After ImgBurn is installed onto the computer, follow the steps below.
- Open ImgBurn.
- Insert a blank CD or DVD.
- Right-click the .ISO file you want to create as a CD or DVD, and click the option to Burn using ImgBurn or Open ImgBurn.
- Click the Write button to start the burn. This button looks like a picture of a hard drive pointing to a CD.
