Unable to log you on because of an Account Restriction error

When attempting to log into the administrator account in Windows XP Home, you'll get the error Unable to log you on because of an Account Restriction. In this version of Windows, Microsoft restricts the administrator account to be used only in Safe Mode, and not Normal Mode.

To create an administrator password or change the administrator account password, this can be done through Safe Mode.

• Open Safe Mode.
• Once in Safe Mode, you can create and change the administrator password the same way you would in Normal Mode.
