Is it ok to have a spyware and antivirus program installed?
Yes, it is ok for a spyware or malware program to be installed on a computer that is already running an antivirus program. Although most antivirus programs can detect and remove viruses, spyware, and other malware, we recommend you also use a spyware protection program.
Although it's ok for an antivirus and spyware program to run on the same computer, you shouldn't run more than one of each at the same time. Running multiple antivirus scanners on the same computer causes problems. If you're not happy with the installed antivirus scanner, it can be uninstalled.
