How to update my antivirus if the license is expiring
To update an antivirus program (e.g., AVG, Norton, McAfee, etc.), the software must be active, meaning it has not expired. If your antivirus software is expiring soon or has expired, you must either renew the license or purchase a new antivirus program.
To renew the software, open the program and access the settings and configuration options. Usually, there will be an option for renewing the license, when the software is near its expiration date. You may also be able to go to the software developers website to renew the license directly. For this, have your license key handy, so it can be entered on the website.
Renewing your existing software license is usually the best way to go and often the cheapest option, as it can save you ten to twenty dollars over buying a full program at retail prices.
What if I don't want to renew my antivirus?
If you decide you do not want to renew your antivirus program, uninstall the antivirus from the computer to prevent the renew pop-up or other messages. Once uninstalled, use the Windows Defender or install another new antivirus program to help keep your computer protected.
