Google ChromeOS and Chromebook keyboard shortcuts

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+/ shows an interactive menu with every shortcut key combination available on a ChromeOS computer.

Shortcut keys | Description |
---|---|
Ctrl+Shift+Q (twice) | Sign out of your Google account. |
Ctrl+Shift+L | Lock your computer's screen. |
Alt+1 - Alt+8 | Activates apps 1-8 on the shelf. |
Alt+9 | Activates the last app on the shelf. |
Alt+Shift+M | Open the files app. |
Alt+Shift+S | Open the status menu. |
Ctrl+Alt+Z | Toggle ChromeVox on or off. |
Ctrl+Shift++ or Ctrl+Shift+- | Change the screen resolution. |
Ctrl+Shift+0 | Set the screen resolution back to default. |
Ctrl+Shift+Reload button | Rotate the screen 90 degrees. |
F1-F12 | Launcher + 1 to Launcher + = key. |
Page Up | Alt or Launcher and up arrow. |
Page Down | Alt or Launcher and down arrow. |
Ctrl+ or Ctrl+F5 | Take a screenshot of the current page. |
Ctrl+Shift+ or Ctrl+Shift+F5 | Take a partial screenshot of the current page. |
Ctrl+Shift+→ | Select the word to the right. |
Ctrl+Shift+← | Select the word to the left. |
Shift+Launcher+Right Arrow | Select text until the end of the line. |
Shift+Launcher+Left Arrow | Select text until the end of the previous line. |
Ctrl+Backspace | Delete the word to the left of the cursor. |
Alt+Backspace | Delete the word to the right of the cursor. |
Ctrl+→ | Move cursor one word to the right. |
Ctrl+← | Move cursor one word to the left. |
Ctrl+Alt+up | Go to the top of the page. |
Ctrl+Alt+down | Go to the bottom of the page. |
Ctrl+Launcher+Right Arrow | Go to the end of a document. |
Ctrl+Launcher+Left Arrow | Go to the beginning of a document. |
Ctrl+A | Select everything on a page. |
Ctrl+C | Copy selected text to clipboard. |
Ctrl+L | Select everything in the address bar. |
Ctrl+V | Paste text currently in clipboard. |
Ctrl+Shift+V | Paste text as plain text. |
Ctrl+W | Closes the currently selected tab. |
Ctrl+X | Cut text from document and copy to clipboard. |
Ctrl+Z | Undo last action. |
Launcher key+L | Lock the Chromebook, displaying the lock screen. |
