CMOS sensor

A CMOS sensor is an image sensor used with digital cameras that converts light into electrical signals. CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors contain millions of rows of photodiodes and amplifiers. When compared to CCD (Charge-Coupled Device), they require less power, are faster to convert images into digital data, and are cheaper to produce. However, CMOS sensors are more susceptible to noise and not as light sensitive as CCD.
