Collaboration
Collaboration refers to an instance where two or more people work together to achieve a common goal, such as completing an application, raising money, or finishing an artistic project.
This term is used in technology to indicate that people or organizations cooperate on software, applications, websites, or other technical projects.
How can you collaborate?
Computers and other devices like smartphones and tablets connected to the Internet can make collaboration easier. Below are different tools you can use to collaborate with others.
Google drive
Google Drive and programs on Google Drive like Google Docs (word processor) and Google Sheets (spreadsheet) can make it easy to collaborate with people. For example, you could use Google Drive to share any of your files and use Google Docs to have multiple people edit a document at the same time.
Other file-sharing services, like Dropbox and OneDrive, can also be used to share files during a collaboration.
GitHub
A revision control service like GitHub allows multiple users to collaborate on a project without overwriting each others' work. Typically, most revision control services allow programmers to develop the same program. However, it can also help multiple people (collaborators) work on other projects like writing documentation, creating a website, and others.
CMS
Using a good CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress allows multiple people to work on a website at the same time. Other services like a Wiki facilitate people coming together to create a knowledge base of information about any topic.
Zoom
To teleconference with others, services like Zoom allow you to easily remotely connect and communicate with multiple people at once. In addition to video communication, these types of services also have features like whiteboards that allow participants to draw, and show presentations.
Messaging
Messaging services like Teams, Discord, e-mail, and other platforms not only allow you to communicate with each other, but can also allow you to share files.
