Control menu
Also called the system menu and window menu, a control menu is a popup menu shown when left-clicking the icon in the top-left corner of most windows in Microsoft Windows.
You may use keyboard shortcut Alt+spacebar to open the control menu.
What is found in the control menu?
As shown in the picture, the default control menu has Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, and Close options. In our example, we left-clicked the "Dw" (Dreamweaver) program window icon. If your program window does not have an icon in the top-left corner, the control menu may not be accessible using the left-click, but should still work with the keyboard shortcut.
In some programs (e.g., Windows Command Prompt), the control menu is used to access the program's settings.
