How to use the Ctrl+left keyboard shortcut
To use this keyboard shortcut, press and hold either Ctrl key, and while continuing to hold, press the ← arrow key.
Ctrl+left in Excel and other spreadsheet programs
Pressing Ctrl+← while in a spreadsheet, like Microsoft Excel, moves to the farthest left of last entry in the data set.
Ctrl+left in text programs
Pressing Ctrl+← (left) while in a text program (e.g., text editor) moves the cursor one word to the left. For example, if the cursor was at the end of a sentence, holding down Ctrl and pressing ← multiple times gets farther left than only pressing the left arrow key.
