How to use the Ctrl+P keyboard shortcut
To use this keyboard shortcut, press and hold either Ctrl key, and while continuing to hold, press P.
Ctrl+P in an Internet browser
In all major Internet browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Opera), pressing Ctrl+P opens a window that lets you print the current page.
Most browsers now also give you the option to save the print preview as a PDF (Portable Document Format) too.
Ctrl+P in Excel and other spreadsheet programs
In Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs, pressing Ctrl+P opens the print preview window.
Ctrl+P in Microsoft PowerPoint
In Microsoft PowerPoint, Ctrl+P has the following functions, depending on the view.
- In the Normal view, it opens the Print page to view the print preview and print the slide deck.
- In the Slide Show view, it changes the normal cursor to the pen tool.
