How to use the Ctrl+R keyboard shortcut
To use this keyboard shortcut, press and hold either Ctrl key, and while continuing to hold, press R.
Ctrl+R in an Internet browser
In all major Internet browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera), pressing Ctrl+R refreshes (reloads) the current web page.
Using the Ctrl+F5 does a hard refresh and is helpful when the local cache for a web page is not all reloaded.
Ctrl+R in Excel and other spreadsheet programs
In Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs, pressing Ctrl+R fills the row cell(s) to the right with the contents of the selected cell. To fill more than one cell, select the source cell and press Ctrl+Shift+Right arrow to select additional ones. Then, press Ctrl+R to fill them with the contents of the original cell.
Using the Ctrl+D shortcut fills a column instead of a row.
