Alternatively called customer care, customer support, or CS, customer service is a business department that handles general customer requests, comments, or complaints. The individual handling the customer is called the customer service representative, sometimes abbreviated as CSR.
Tip
To work for a company with no open positions in your areas of interest, consider starting as a customer service representative. Getting your foot in the door is the best way to get your desired position since you'll hear about open positions first and know the company's culture.
