CWIS

Short for Campus-Wide Information System, CWIS is a central location a College or University uses to store information for classes, lecture notes, school papers, electronic books, etc. In the past, this database of information was commonly accessed using telnet or only accessible through an internal intranet. Today, many schools have brought this information online and have it accessible over the Internet.
