Demote

Demote may refer to any of the following:

1. In an ordered or unordered bullet point list, users may demote elements, meaning they come a secondary list item. In the image below, "Sub item 1" is an example of a demoted "Main item."

2. When referencing computer programming, you may demote a section of code that moves it down a hierarchical chain. The lowest point you can demote code to is a value object; a variable that stores a simple value.
