Destination

Alternatively called a target, a destination is the location where data is sent. For example, when moving data to a USB (universal serial bus) flash drive from a hard drive, the destination is the flash drive, and the hard drive is the source. Another example is when you download something from the Internet the website is the source and your computer is the destination.

What is an invalid destination?

When copying or moving a file a destination may be invalid for any of the following reasons.

• An invalid destination path was entered.
• You lack the rights to the destination.
• The destination drive was disconnected or no longer exists.
• The network connection used to connect to the destination has failed.
