Diamond Multimedia
Originally founded in 1982, Diamond Multimedia is a manufacturer of computer video cards, modems, sound cards, TV tuners, MP3 players, and other computer components and electronics.
In 1999, the company merged with S3, which became SONICblue and filed bankruptcy on March 21, 2003. Diamond was later purchased by Best Data and began making products again under the name Diamond Multimedia. See below company news for additional details.

March 21, 2003 - SONICblue filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
November 1, 2000 - S3 Incorporated announced a name change to SONICblue and began trading on November 15, 2000, under the stock ticker symbol SBLU. With the exit of its desktop and portable graphics chips and board businesses, SONICblue was highly focused on digital media and information appliance opportunities.
September 24, 1999 - S3 Incorporated and Diamond Multimedia Systems announced that the merger of the two companies was approved by both S3 and Diamond's shareholders. Under the terms of the merger, shareholders of Diamond Multimedia would receive .52 of a share of S3 stock for each share of Diamond Multimedia stock held.
