Disk access time
Updated: 09/12/2023 by Computer Hope
Disk access time is the total time it takes the computer to process a data request from the processor and then retrieve the required data from a storage device.
Note
When comparing a hard drive access time make sure you're comparing hard drives with the same technology. An HDD (hard disk drive) with a spinning disk is much slower than an SSD (solid-state drive). Also, a 5400 RPM (revolutions per minute) hard drive will be much slower than a 7200 RPM hard drive.
