Updated: 10/02/2017 by Computer Hope
dmf floppy

Short for distribution media format, DMF is a special format of 3.5" floppy disks used by Microsoft that stores 1.68 MB of data on a standard 1.44 MB floppy disk. These diskettes were used for the Windows 95 setup disks to reduce the amount of diskettes needed during setup and prevent software piracy.
