DOD may refer to any of the following:
1. Short for drop-on-demand, DOD is an inkjet printer technology created by Siemens in 1977. With a DOD printer, the ink is expelled exactly where it is needed on the paper. To expel ink, pressure waves push a set amount of ink drops through the nozzles of the printhead.
2. Short for Department of Defense, DoD is a portion of the U.S. government that trains and equips the armed forces through three military departments -- the Air Force, Army, and Navy.
