Dpkg
Updated: 09/12/2023 by Computer Hope
Short for Debian Package Manager, dpkg is a software package installation and management tool. It is used by the Debian Linux operating system, and other Linux systems that rely on the extensive Debian package repository, notably Ubuntu. Like all package managers, dpkg helps administrators selectively install software from a free repository containing thousands of open source software packages. The package manager tracks and resolves all dependencies, ensuring that conflicts do not arise with other programs.
