DuckDuckGo is a search engine that emphasizes the privacy and ubiquity of its results. The user remains anonymous, so search results are not "personalized" for the user based on their previous queries. The DuckDuckGo slogan is "the search engine that doesn't track you."
DuckDuckGo was founded by Gabriel Weinberg, and based in Pennsylvania, United States. The search engine itself is written in Perl, and runs on nginx, FreeBSD and Linux.
Note
DuckDuckGo is sometimes abbreviated as DDG.
