EDVAC

EDVAC computer

Short for Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer, EDVAC is one of the first electronic computers that utilized the binary system that began performing basic tasks in 1951. The picture is a public domain U.S. Army photo of the EDVAC, from K. Kempf.
