E ink

E ink may refer to any of the following:
1. Hardware company founded in 1997 with research that started at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab that develops EPD (electronic paper displays) technologies found in such products as the Amazon Kindle. As shown in the example below, this technology works by positively charging white pigment chips and negatively charging black pigment chips and storing those chips in a clear fluid. When a negative electric field is applied, white pigment chips move to the top and make the surface appear white. The opposite electric field moves the black pigment chips to the surface.
2. Electronic Paper is also the codename Microsoft used for Multiplan.
