Electrophotography

Electrophotography is a process used by laser printers, fax machines, and copying machines, where an electrical charge is placed onto the paper. When exposed to an optical image through light, such as a laser or LED (light-emitting diode) a static charge is created. Toner is then spread over the paper. It is attracted to the static charge portions, and then fused to the paper by heat and pressure to make the final print.
