EMI

Short for ElectroMagnetic Interference, EMI is a disturbance that occurs when two or more magnetic fields interact with one another. These fields can cause problems in any electric device with a circuit board. An example of EMI would be placing an electric fan close to a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor, which causes the screen's image to flicker or jump. Another example, is the disruption seen on a TV when getting a cell phone call or the disruption heard on speakers when getting a call.
