Empty

Empty may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, empty refers to anything containing nothing. For example, with a computer, an empty file is a file with no data and is 0 bytes. An empty folder is a folder with no other files or folders.

2. With an area, an empty area is a portion of the screen containing no objects (e.g., text, icons, files, folder, etc.). For example, an empty area on your desktop is a portion of your desktop with no icons. When needing to right-click the desktop, you'd need to click an empty area. If you right-click a file, it would give you the right-click menu for the file and not the desktop.

3. As a verb, empty describes removing all contents of an object, such as emptying the Windows Recycle Bin or macOS Trash.
