Endpoint
Endpoint may refer to any of the following:
1. With computer networks, an endpoint is any connected device. For example, your computer on your home network is considered an endpoint, as is the Computer Hope server that provided you with this web page.
When dealing with computer security, an endpoint is the computer or device being targeted during the attack. Protecting all endpoints is important for network security because once the attacker has gained access to an endpoint, they have an easier time getting to other network devices. For example, with a home network, if you have an insecure IoT (Internet of Things) device, it could be the endpoint that gives someone access to other network devices.
2. When describing a line, an endpoint is the end of a line.
