Fab may refer to any of the following:
1. With integrated circuits and semiconductors, a fab is a plant responsible for making semiconductor devices (usually integrated circuits). Because of the cost and complexity associated with building and running a fabrication plant, most semiconductor companies adopt a fabless model.
Examples of fab companies include AMD, Analog Devices, Freescale, Hitachi, Intel, Micron, Mitsumi, NEC, NXP, Philips, Qualcomm, Renesas, Samsung, Sony, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, and TSMC.
