Fail-safe system
Updated: 11/12/2023 by Computer Hope
A fail-safe operation or fail-safe system is a system designed to go into a safe mode if and when the system happens to fail. By going into a safe mode it helps reduce the probability of loss or damage of equipment or harm to personnel. For example, if the power is lost or another problem happens with traffic lights, the lights flash yellow or red to help warn drivers of the problem.
