Fencing
Updated: 05/01/2023 by Computer Hope
In computing, fencing refers to a process where a specific node in a server cluster is isolated when it is not working properly. You can think of it like quarantining a problematic part of a system.
When multiple computers are part of the same system, they tend to share resources. Fencing is a failsafe measure implemented to keep the faulty node from sharing data that may compromise other nodes or the entire network.
