FLAC

Updated: 11/13/2018 by Computer Hope

Short for free lossless audio codec, FLAC is an open source audio codec with little compression and little audio loss. Because of the lower compression, FLAC files are much larger than lossy files, such as an MP3 file. However, they will sound identical to the source media.
