Alternatively known as 3D Touch, Force Touch is a pressure sensitivity technology developed by Apple in 2014. On iOS, the feature is called 3D Touch, while on macOS, it is known as Force Touch. Apple products with Force Touch allow users to access features and shortcut menus by applying more pressure when pressing on the screen or touchpad. 3D Touch also gives a haptic feedback response when the right amount of pressure is used, simulating a mechanical button.
