A founder may refer to any of the following:

1. A founder is a person who starts a new company, often becoming the CEO or joining the board of directors. For example, one of the founders of Microsoft was Bill Gates.

2. Less commonly, a founder is the creator and developer of software. If the software becomes part of a software suite, the developer is considered the founder of the suite.
