Flat-panel display
Updated: 11/13/2018 by Computer Hope
Sometimes abbreviated as FPD, a Flat-Panel Display is a display technology which succeeds CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) as the new standard for desktop computer displays. Unlike CRT monitors, flat-panel displays use LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display) or LED (Light-Emitting Diode) screens, making them lighter and thinner.
The picture shows an example of an ASUS flat-panel display.
